Planning Advice Assistant

We are seeking to recruit to our team of Planning Advice Assistants. This role involves the initial processing of Planning and Building Regulations applications, operating the Council’s Electronic Document Management and back office computer systems, advising members of the public on Planning and Building Control matters and other general administrative duties as required. Whilst some knowledge of Planning and/or Building Control would be desirable, full training will be provided. We are a modern service making extensive use of technology, so excellent IT skills are essential. You will have experience of using computer systems for the storage and retrieval of information. Experience of using Electronic Document Management or GIS systems would be an advantage. Applicants should have previous experience of working with the general public and possess good organisational skills, have the ability to prioritise workloads, be able to work to deadlines and have excellent verbal communications skills, both on the telephone and face to face. Principal Transport Planner
